Bangladeshi uPVC pipe maker Gazi Group is substantially increasing its capacity with six additional extrusion lines.

The company, which says it's one of the largest firms in Bangladesh's plastics and rubber sector, will have 19 extrusion lines after the additional capacity comes on stream, according to a press release from machinery supplier Rajoo Bausano Extrusion Pvt. Ltd.

The Dhaka-based Gazi Group declined additional comment on the reason for the investment or future plans. Beyond pipes and fittings, the company also manufactures a range of plastic products, including water tanks, industrial baskets and trolleys and road cones.

It also makes tires and has business interests in real estate, media, banking and insurance.

Rajoo Bausano, which said it has supplied seven extrusion lines to Gazi Group, is a joint venture of India's Rajoo Engineers Ltd. and Italy's Bausano & Figli SpA.
